while we like the layout of this appliance (fridge upper and nice drawer is appreciated) the icemaker has been continually problematic ever after being repaired once before. water leakage, ice dams, wet watery ice are what you get here. my other samsung (side by side) is awesome, so i think the product design on this is just a lemon.

First issue i had was less than 2 years after, of course the warranty expired. Fridge/freezer temperatures arent accurate. and as of about a week ago my freezer decided it prefers to stay at about 55+ degrees and my food all went bad and water piled up in the freezer. Would not recommend.

when we built our house we put in all samsung appliances. our dishwasher died at five years one month, and our refrigerator lasted all of six years. for the last six months we've dealt with constantly having to defrost the icemaker because it would lock up the fan. then last week it stopped cooling. had it checked out and there's a leak in the system starting in the freezer. we were told it would cost over $1500 to fix this thing. it's not worth your money or the hassle.

we somehow became a family of samsung products, washer, dryer, cell phones, watches, loads of products that we are happy with. except for this fridge. beautiful design but terrible quality. 5 years in our ice machine has stopped working - at year 4 the ice machine stopped working but i chipped away and invested a lot of time to maintain the ice machine working. nothing i've tried has worked for a year or more now. all 3 of the bins on the right hand side have broken and need replacement. we have done nothing to cause this breakage, we're not rough or mismanage the bins. the lowest shelf, above the veggie bins, has also broken- the plastic surrounding the glass. huge waste of over $3k. please do yourself the favor and look elsewhere for a better fridge.

we purchased ours 3 years ago and throughout the entire time, we've had problems with the ice maker. more specifically, the ice builds and eventually to the point that the gears are frozen and maker is unable to produce ice. we were able to use the self-defrost feature to get ice for 2 weeks before problem returned. another problem is due to the evaporation panel and seems in our unit excessive condensation led to leaks in the front of the unit. (see pictures) for a $2000 refrigerator that lasted only 3 years, and getting a repair bill for $1060 is simply unacceptable. we are done with samsung refrigerators.

i have a samsung (rf28hmedbsr/aa) and disappointed with the purchase. i purchased it while building a house. it was stored indoors with ac in box for 8 mths before installed. after opening box there were small rust spots on outside doors. i didn't address because we were moving in and didn't have time to deal with it. a few mths later the ice maker froze up, so i thawed it out per online fixes for the icemaker. it never worked again. when i called, samsung said the warranty had run out because collectively it had been over a year since we purchased the product, even though we only used it for 5 months. we have just purchased ice to put in the ice maker since. what a waste of money on such an expensive product that does not work properly.

initially we really liked this refrigerator but after 3 years the ice maker kept acting up and looking at reviews, it seemed to be a common problem others were having. this year the middle "flex" drawer temperature setting started going off on it's own and the control board wasn't allowing any correction. again, it seemed to be a common problem others were having according to reviews. trying to contact samsung customer service was a joke, when they did contact you, the first available appointment for a service technician to come out was 3-4 weeks from now. we just went down and purchased a ge refrigerator and had our samsung removed. samsung used to be great but now it seems they are living on their reputation and not producing a good product.

we bought ours approximately 1 year ago, these are our thoughts a year in. first, we love the touch screen controls on the left door. controls are easy to use. flex zone drawer is great for soda cans and cheeses. freezer is ok for a weeks worth of food, any more and you'll need a dedicated freezer in the basement or garage. power cool mode is great for power loss recovery. only complaints are ice maker doesn't keep up and during summer ice melts in box as it is stored in fridge, and light scratches won't come out of stainless steel panels. buy this unit on sale, it's not worth full price.

i can say that the 2 drawer areas are still working. in 2014, i needed a new fridge and went with this one. 2 years, the ice machine began freezing. it was always being pulled apart to thaw. by 2019, the ice machine stopped working. instead of repairing it, i just use ice trays. no big deal, right? well, earlier this year, i heard a load noise coming from it. when i opened a door, it stopped. the noise would stop, then start again. it was loud enough to hear at the other end of my house. it was taken apart, looked at and i thought it just needed to be cleaned due to dust, cats, dog, etc.now, the noise has stopped, but,now the temp isn't low enough.i'm going to keep it for the drink drawer, the freezer, but i will never buy a samsung appliance again.

this fridge is garbage. it was manufactured in july 2018, so its a year and a half old. the ice maker works every now and then (if we spend 2-3 hours defrosting it twice a week).

i love the refrigerator but hate the ice maker. i have had it serviced but nothing works. it either delivers slushy ice, freezes over in the ice maker, and ice jams up due to frost build-up.
