yes, i bought the nice rf22kredbsr refrigerator in mar2017. within a year, ice maker started freezing up. not a big deal, defrost and move on.
i replaced the ver a icemaker to ver c icemaker due to this poor design. worked for another year, and now monthly defrost. i guess it is good its a cabinet depth unit that doesn't hold much, so defrosting is a good time to clean it while the ice maker thaws out.
other that replacing the ice maker again, and verifying that the ice area is sealed, is there anything else that can be done to resolve this issue?
this unit is a nice refrigerator and works well, but the ice maker is design fail.

i was so excited to get my new fridge. 6 months in, the ice machine started icing over. i thought it was a one time thing, but then a few months later it happened again. magically my warranty was expired. i've been dealing with the freeze over every few months. now here we are, 4 years later, and my fridge has condensation on the back panel and it's running about 10 degrees higher than it should be. samsung won't help with anything even though they know this is a defect and not a warranty issue (when it happens to thousands of people, it becomes a defect). i'm cutting my losses and buying a new fridge instead of paying $700+ to get it fixed.

i truly do like the fridge overall, but the one thing i cannot forgive in any refrigerator is one that cannot make ice consistently and cannot make a enough ice.
i have had two different ice makers so far and am working on getting it replaced again. it just does not keep ice cold. i get slush and water initially and it just spins and spins letting out either slush or half-melted ice cubes at a dismally slow rate.
if your ice maker is working don't remove the ice bucket because that seems to be when my issues arose with both makers i have had so far.

i bought this regrigerator in 2017, its only been 3 years and my ice machine has been giving issues. luckily, i bought an extended warranty with sears but they hve been trying to fox this problem for the lat year or so. they came out and i thought they fixed it but they didn't. it is a real inconvienence to keep calling them to make an appt and wait on the call. my fridge is still giving me problems- ice machine is not working and when it does work- it is not making the right type of ice. i am thinking that i should look for another brand!

ice dispenser doesn't work and is flawed. had the ice maker repaired several times and has the same problems over and over. dispenser freezes and stops making ice. have to turn off refrigerator to get it to thaw and then it repeats. this is a terrible design and i'm not sure why they keep selling the refrigerator.

the icemaker itself resides in the warmer fridge cabinet. this leads to constant melting and leakage. the leakage runs onto the shelves - we start each day by wiping the interior shelves dry.

I bought one of these and returned it because it was 5 degrees warmer than the temp showing on the door. The second was the same and was returned. According to the technician that came, the thermostat is in the upper back of the refrigerator. He also told me that Milk should not be on the door because it could be too warm (ours was 43 degrees in the door tray). The box was returned.

Everyone I know even Lowe's said not to buy Samsung appliances. They said the customer service was horrible and they would not back there products. having had TVs from them that I have been very satisfied with I figured why would this be any deferent. Within three years I've had ice slowly build on the twin cooling unit so much that it cracked the casing of the fridge. No big deal so I have to de ice it ever once and a while. I moved on. Now my ice unit stopped working. I spent over an hour on the phone as I wrote this getting bounced around and told that they will not do anything to repair it unless I pay an arm and a leg. 3000$ and I can't get 3 years out a prouduct. Thought I was paying for a quality product when all I was doing was wasting money on garbage and bad customer service

Bought from Home Depot, was slightly dented on middle drawer but nothing to dramatic. Would give it a 4 star but the middle drawer does not stay colder than 34 degrees even when set to 29. The top freezer drawer on rails can be cumbersome.
We are very happy with the performance, had refrigerator 10 months now.

Purchased item in August 2018, told there was one year warranty, but Samsung only honoring <10 months. Intermittent problems with ice maker freezing and not making ice. Online help functions - worthless! Online chat very unresponsive. Calling support line is like talking to an untrained 8th grader, and could not solve the problem. A lot of 'maybe' 'could be' never got to dispatching a technician for service! Still no ice, no help & no resolution. If had a choice I definitely would buy a different product - one that has support backing its warranty.

We have had this refrigerator for exactly 1 year and 1 week, and the ice maker has stopped working. It was never a great ice maker (very small, which is the price you pay to have more room inside the fridge). The water dispenser is also poorly designed--instead of dispensing the water straight down, it angles backwards toward the door, which makes for a lot of messes, especially with 3 kids who are always trying to fill water bottles. The freezer is a nice capacity, but the drawers are always getting stuck. Overall, I would not recommend it

Ice maker has frizen several times and it is almost impossible to open and thaw. Today is the first time that I come to read all the other horrible reviews in this refrigerator and come to find out that my warranty expired earlier this year. The other thing that is TERRIBLE in this refrigerator is the cabinet inside the freezer. Its impossible to move without feeling you are going to break it. NEVER again a Samsung appliance.

We have had to repair the ice maker twice within the last 18 mos (RF22KREDSG). Also, the ice maker is noisy. Fortunately, we have an extended warranty or we would be paying for repairs. Called Samsung in vain. Will never buy another Samsung applianc...ever!

I purchased this refrigerator in 2015 from a major appliance store. Since that time, I have had it replaced twice. All 3 times, the ice maker has failed, and all 3 times, the ice maker or motor (I'm not certain which) was replaced with a more updated version. (Samsung had some sort of recall on the original ice makers). All 3 of the new ice makers have also failed at numerous times. The ice clogs inside the maker, forcing the repair technician to pull out large chunks, and melt the rest with a heating device. Thank goodness that I purchased a warranty!!
In addition, the second refrigerator had a freezer malfunction 3 times, which was exacerbated by the fact that the temperature reading displayed on the front of the refrigerator incorrectly showed that the freezer temperature was 0 degrees. When I noticed the food in the freezer was thawing, I unplugged the refrigerator, then plugged it back in. Then, the true temperature of the freezer was correctly displayed. (45 degrees the first time, 51 degrees the second time). Needless to say, I had to throw out a lot of food.
Yes, this refrigerator is beautiful, and the middle draw is very handy. But I cannot be the only person who has struck out THREE times with this supposed 4 star refrigerator. Customers need to update their initial raving reviews to reflect what happens within 10 months to a year later, because that's how long it takes for the first malfunction to occur.
I love Samsung televisions and cell phones, but I am APPALLED at how
unreliable their refrigerators are! For those who are wondering why I would get 3 of the same refrigerator, the answer is simple. The first time, I figured that a malfunction could not possibly happen again. The second time, Samsung replaced it within the first year, so I was forced to get another Samsung. I stuck with the same model because I was told that the ice makers were all the same.

About one week after the one-year warranty expired, the troubles began. Serious leakage after a water filter replacement caused some damage in the basement. A mysterious whirring off-and-on lasted for a few months before stopping. Now is the constant battle of the icemaker freezing over and producing no ice. This is not a good appliance. Do not purchase it.

First of all, Samsung won't let me enter the serial number in their site to register it since it's 4 years old. You have to do it within 3 years. I wanted to use profanity here but they won't let me post a review with it so I had to change it.
Warning: After less than 4 years we've had to manually defrost this fridge every month with a hairdryer. There are hundreds of people complaining about the same issue (Google it). We've had service repair people out and no one can seem to properly diagnose the cause. New parts, still not defrosting. All the service guys say they get the most repair calls for Samsun refrigerators. I love my Samsung TV and my Galaxy, but I'll never buy another Samsung Appliance.
The icemaker is awful, takes forever to dispense. The ice cubes are all frosted up within days of making them. We can empty the ice bucket for a cooler and it's barely a 1/2 of a gallon size bag of ice, then within a few days, the ice is all frosted again in the ice maker.

We've had this fridge for a year and a half. Its a beautiful fridge but it has the worst ice maker ever. I've bought several fridges over the years but the ice maker is by far the worst I've ever owned.As expensive as this fridge is, I can't believe Samsung would put out an ice maker like this. Ever 2 weeks I have to spend 30 to 40 minutes using a hair dryer to defrost it. It freezes up and quits working I've read where other people are having the same problem. Knowing what I know now, I would not have bought this fridge.

I have had nothing but problems with the ice maker in this refrigerator. I have had a service man out 4 times, the entire ice maker was replaced and the thing still freezes up and water leaks into the ice and it freezes up. I really like the refrigerator as a whole but the ice maker is an ongoing problem. I have to thaw it at least weekly or the whole thing makes an annoying noise.

We have a house full of Samsung and have been happy with them all with only one slight exception. That was a huge refrigerator we bought in 2009 and the ice maker never worked to our expectations. We just replaced it with this counter depth model and are super pleased. The ice maker works better and the other features are well thought out and work great for us. We thought we would miss the larger model we previously had but with the great features organization of the new one, the counter depth seems to hold everything we expect it to. We have a washer, dryer, range and dishwasher and have never had a service call. Thanks, Samsung.

We purchased this French Door refrigerator/freezer combo a little more than a year and a half ago. About three months ago, the ice maker stopped producing ice. When I opened the bucket compartment, I observed substantial ice build-up. I defrosted the compartment at significant expense of my time, only to have the ice maker repeatedly fail month-after-month since the original repair. After reading reviews online, I learned that thousands of owners have experienced the same problem. This significant design flaw has diminished our view of Samsung and has devalued our expensive refrigerator/freezer. If I could have a "do over," I would not purchase this appliance and would stay away from Samsung. I will start this by saying I love Samsung brand electronics and my house is filled with them. I thought their refrigerator would be the same and didn't heed the warnings. Ice maker is a joke, mine broke in the first 3 months and sent metal shavings into my ice bin. They did sent out a repair person and the part was easily fixed (he seemed to know this was an issue with this brand/model). Shortly after that I had no water coming from the dispenser and followed the self help guide. Upon removing the water filter I got a high pressure face full of water. Re-installed the filter (which they claimed should not shoot water when removed) and now I have a steady drip into my cooling drawer. My current choice is a dish to catch the water or no ice. Have another service ticket in so I will try to update this when they fix this current issue. Also, as others have mentioned there seems to be no difference between crushed and cubed ice. All of it comes out in broken random shards. The whole water/ice design seems to be a bad design. It is a carp shoot whether you will get ice/water and how fast or slow it will show up. It has taken almost 2 minutes to fill a water bottle in some instances and typically I get 1/3 cup in the 10 seconds it says I should get 3/4 to 1 cup of water. The angle for getting water into a water bottle is also a little wonky, you typically get a wet hand/feet if you try it without bending over to look up the crooked spout. You will also likely hate the freezer on this...very small and you have about a fist size gap under the top drawer (which only slides about 2 inches) to fit your food into. I really hate leaving bad reviews and never leave 1 star, but this thing barely rates a 2 to 2.5 at this point. Way more expensive than it should be with all the problems mine has had.

We just purchased this refrigerator and so far we love it. I read mixed reviews on issues so I did buy the 3 year service plan just to be safe. The only things we aren't crazy about is the inability to move the doors on the fridge door for tall items. The fold up shelf inside does help with that. Also - not sure if I just haven't figured out how to access the ice maker bin but I would like to be able to reach in and get ice cubes vs. having to put them in a glass.

I bought a brand new Samsung refrigerator in April 2017. Since then it has dripped water from the in door water dispenser. Enough that there is a puddle in front of my refrigerator every morning. The Samsung representative I have spoken to multiple times has told me that because the authorized repairman cannot find a defect that it cannot be replaced!! I am beyond annoyed. I cannot believe this company is not standing behind its product. I have already spent countless hours on the phone. And I will spend many more it seems. What a terrible company.

I've had the refrigerator for 20 days. It looks great and keeps everything cold and fresh but here are a few things that aren't as good as they should be: 1) the water from the dispenser does not get very cold, almost feels like room temperature at all times 2) a few of the shelves are not level and lean from one side to the other, I'm still waiting for a fix on this 3) we have a family of 4 and the ice maker has a hard time keeping up with our usage 4) the divider in the flex zone is bogus but fortunately it is easy to remove 5) the sliding tray in the freezer seems to get off it's track and needs adjustments often

I like being able to get to drinks and snacks thru the right access panel vs having to open the door, this will save on cooling. The additional drawer for drinks or deli is also a bonus. Hopefully this product will keep me satisfied for years to come.

I am a little disappointed in this refrigerator when compared to the 28 cubic foot version that I also own and the reason is not simply the obvious size difference. The ice maker in this unit cannot keep up with a two person household and takes way too long to make a small bucket of ice. Its' 28 cubic foot counterpart will fill a much larger ice bucket in less than a day. I could not get by on this fridge alone. I purchased it because I bought a new home that only had room for a counter depth model due to the location of the pantry door. Without the 28 cubic foot Samsung that was relegated to the garage I would be constantly buying extra ice during the summer entertaining months.

The Samsung 22 cu. ft. Counter Depth 4-Door French Door Food Showcase Refrigerator is the best purchase I have made in recent years. First of all, it is a great addition to any kitchen area. The stainless steel finish and smooth lines really draws attention to guests. It is extremely quiet and fits absolutely perfect to the counter depth as advertised. The cooling settings are user friendly and the ice maker/water dispenser is convenient and easily accessible. The storage and accessibility is the best I have seen on the market.
